Biochemistry is the science concerned with studying the various molecules that occur in living cells and organisms and with their chemical reactions. Because life depends on biochemical reactions, biochemistry has become the basic language of all biologic sciences.
Naturopathy or nature cure and Yoga is a traditional system which is based on well-founded philosophy. The basic underlying theories of nature cure are vitality, toxemia, body’s self-healing capacity as well as the principles of healthy living.

The SDM College of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences involves itself in scientific and evidence based learning for various academic and clinical purposes through the Dept. of naturopathy diagnostic methods, clinical naturopathy & yoga therapy & Research & Development. It looks after all the institutional projects undertaken by under graduate and Post graduate students, Interns and Faculty of the college. The Dept. as a major highlight has a BIOPAC MP 36 unit installed and is being used by the aforementioned staff and students for different electrophysiological studies assessing the efficacy of certain Naturopathic and Yogic treatment therapies on variables like Heart Rate Variability (HRV), Spirometry, Reaction Time etc. A drugless therapeutic approach which is evidence based and a promise of good health.
