
Valedictory Function
The five-day ‘3rd International Conference on Yoga and Naturopathy’ organized at SDM College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (SDMCNYS), Ujire, in association with Indian Naturopathy & Yoga Graduates Medical Association (INYGMA), was concluded on May 16 2025. Addressing the gathering, Chief guest, Honourable Minister of State for Law and Justice, and Parliamentary affairs Sri Arjun Ram Meghwal said that one can lead a healthy life by following naturopathy and yoga. “The human body comprises five natural elements, with water dominating every aspect of life. While the body facilitates food consumption and enjoyment, the mind ignites human values of love, trust, service, and compassion”, he added.
He also spoke about the philanthropic activities being done at Dharmastala and the four aspects daana that is Vidya daana (education), Abhaya daana (protection), Anna daana (food) and Oushada daana (medicine)
Speaking on the occasion, Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khadar said, “If we leave nature, diseases start to manifest. India has shone across the world with the systems of yoga, Ayurveda and naturopathy which are the gifts of the Yogis and saints of ancient India”. He expressed that he is a follower of naturopathy and it is one of the reasons for his good health
Presiding over the programme, Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmastala and President of SDM Educational Society (SDMES), said, “Body heals itself, for example animals don’t consult physicians, nature itself gives the medicine. By improving one’s lifestyle in the modern world one can improve his health. The body close to nature is rarely diseased”.
Dr. Sitaram Jindal, Chairman and Managing Director, Jindal Aluminium Ltd was acknowledged for his contributions towards naturopathy and was awarded the Lifetime achievement award. Chief Medical Officer of Jindal institute, Dr. Babina received the award on behalf of Dr. Sitaram Jindal.
MLC K. Pratap Simha Nayak, SDMES Secretaries D. Harshendra Kumar, Dr. Sateeshchandra S., INYGMA President Dr Naveen K V, SDMCNYS Principal Dr. Prashant Shetty, and others were present on the occasion.
The function began with a minute of silence for the fallen soldiers at the border.
